Gorgone is a multimedia installation that reinterprets the mythological character of Medusa in the digital age and considers the post #metoo movement strengthened via social networks. Combining the language of mass consumerism, online trends and dissolving the objectification of the female body through the ingenious use of technology, the art installation seeks to undo the patriarchal framework that made Medusa a symbol of horror. In a spellbinding manner, the Gorgone speaks to the viewers that, without any control, are propelled to focus on the centre of its multiple moving eyes. Each 3D holographic fan eye shares a message that oscillates between hope and caution. "Love Lies", "Change Roles", "Gods Crumble", "Look Fights"... all derive from new notions of emancipation of our times and, concurrently, are reflections used in capitalist iconography.
